On the edge of a city that advances with a pervasive cementation of the rural territory and that continues to detach human beings from the “living” – a residual nature, although hampered by infinite anthropic artifacts, carries in itself a pulsating, unexpected parallel life.
The preciousness of the wetlands, the rural landscapes, the wooded areas, the river paths that still survive are constitutive elements of our profound culture, a true habitat in which humanity can find itself.
VENUS (When all the time had leaked)
_______________________________
A dystonic landscape, built with pixel-like brushstrokes, shows a city in ruins.
In the center, a luminous silhouette of a woman enters the water (or comes out of it?) – so the water with its motion creates circles of reflections and sends glows back to the entire landscape. A contemporary Venus, fragmenting the darkness.
A series of Small Venus take up details of the work Venus, to the point of getting lost in an abstraction, as if they are probing potential sources of new energy in the subtlest matter.
ANSA DEL FIUME
_______________________________
The work in four aluminum plates reproduces – like a large aquatint – the design of a bend in the river that ambiguously shows itself on the plate in metallic reflections when the light is grazing, or it negateds itself, when the gaze moves to the surface and the images darken in the grooves.
DOPPIO SGUARDO
_______________________________
The ink drawing shows the softness of the bends and curves of the river. Further to the right, the image continues at 220 degrees inside a plate that hardens its sensuality and shows a wound – a red sign of the guard rail: the city advancing and squeezing it.
